Summer is in the review mirror and autumn is at the door – BUT not in my kitchen! When the cold weather starts biting my cheeks and it’s time to light the fireplace – I prolong the summertime by mixing up some great homemade juices and smoothies. It makes the summer last just a couple of weeks longer. And you can even enjoy them in front of the roaring fire, while watching the rain pour outside.
Another great thing with green juices and smoothies is, they are just so f….ing good for you and your immunesystem. And just as the weather is changing is exactly when you need to fill your body with extra goodness. Even my dear hubby is along on the juicing trend… (as long as you make it for him!)
A little inspiration goes a long way
This spring I bought a danish juicing book, called “the greatest juicediet” and I followed it straight for 14 days! OMG it was tough in the beginning, but within days I had the most incredible energyboost and after those 2 weeks, I practically felt I could walk on water!
For any of you, who’ve never been on a juicediet, I would recommend it any day! And I am definitely going to do another juicing-week or two soon. It’s a great way to boost up your body and health, when you feel a little lackluster. And actually to be honest – the hardest thing during those 14 days, was living without coffee!!! Not doing that again anytime soon!
Speaking of reboot – have you guys seen “Fat, sick & nearly dead“? It’s pretty old by now, but if you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and give it a go. It is amazing what the body can cure and heal, if you give it the right resources to work with.
The best “green” smoothie recipes
It doesn’t take long to find out what kind of veggies you like in your juice. I am not too crazy about too many beets or kiwi’s in my juices or smoothies. But for some reason I love all juice and smoothies with grapefruits and kale (yes…. KALE?!? I can hardly believe it either!) But what’s a favorite in our household, may not be yours, so give the recipes a go, and don’t be afraid to experiment a little, to find your personal favorite!

Kale-icious
1 handful of green curly kale
2-3 leaves of white cabbage
1 handful of raw spinnach
2 cm fresh ginger
1 organic lemon with peel
2 apples (3 if they are small)

Hidden treasures
1/2 pineapple
1 red apple
1-2 carrots
1 handful of raw spinach
8 strawberries
1 handful of raspberries or blueberries
1/2 frozen banana
(add a teaspoon full of healthy oil – we use this one >>>)
Juice the pineapple, apple, carrots and raw spinach. Then blend in the strawberries, raspberries/blueberries and the frozen banana.
Serve with berries on top or in a bowl, so your children can enjoy with a spoon – icecream-like!
This is an amazingly easy way to get your kids to eat more veggies….and it tastes great! Another little tip is to add lots of delicious toppings, like berries, shredded coconut, chopped nuts. Your imagination sets the limits.

I love reading your site.
Hiya, I’m really glad I’ve found this info. Nowadays bloggers publish only about gossips and internet and this is actually irritating. A good web site with exciting content, that is what I need. Thanks for keeping this site, I’ll be visiting it. Do you do newsletters? Can’t find it.
